UW Medical Center- Montlake 5SA CARDIOTHORACIC SURGICAL ICU has an outstanding opportunity for a FULL-TIME (40 hours per week), DAY SHIFT, PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN.

5SA is a Cardiothoracic Surgical ICU caring for post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, and cardiomyopathy patients requiring mechanical circulatory support. Schedule: Monday - Friday - 0600 - 1430 RESPONSIBILITIES + Provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse + Assists patients with activities of daily living + Helps maintain a safe environment of care + Prepares patients for surgery + Provides close observation for confused patients + Helps with patient transportation + Assists with maintenance of equipment and supplies + Performs various clerical tasks + PCTs may serve in several roles, including, Constant Observer and General Unit PCT REQUIREMENTS Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC) with the State of Washington. AND High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT Valid BLS/CPR Card successful on-the-job training.
