JOB: Field Service and Calibration Engineer Location: Kettering Based (but travel offsite regularly) Hours: Monday to Friday Full Time Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 The Company: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our clients every growing team. Your role is to provide, service, calibration, and repair scales, balances, and other weighing equipment, to their UK Industrial, Medical, Retail and Private Sectors. Based in Kettering, they are a well-established business and have a strong reputation for providing excellent service for over 30 years. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit a field service engineer based in the Midlands area. The successful applicant will service equipment on the sites of their customers across the England. You will be the face of their service department and awareness of good customer service is necessary. This role requires travel between sites and occasionally to our workshop in our head office based in Kettering. Our market area covers, industrial, retail, pharmaceutical, medical, and commercial sectors, specifically private businesses. As a Field Service Engineer, your role will be to conduct planned and reactive equipment maintenance, service, and repairs, on electrical and mechanical weighing equipment and weighbridges to ISO and UKAS standards. Responsibilities: Carry out planned preventative maintenance, service and repairs to industrial, retail, and medical scales and other equipment including weighbridges, test weights or service where appropriate. Conduct on-site calibrations and repairs where required Complete Calibration certificate/paperwork on site Provide excellent customer service Report any sales opportunities back to the office Keep Office 365 diary updated to ensure visibility to the service and admin teams. Answer callouts to customers within 8 working hours and keep customers informed of any delays Deliver, install, and calibrate new equipment / hires as required Ensure cover for any other engineers who may be absent Responsible for keeping work van clean and tidy and in good working condition. Van stock, tools, measuring devices, PPE and uniform must be kept clean and in good order. Generate new business within southern areas (catchment areas) by suppling leads to Sales Engineers, or sell directly - new service contracts, additions, and hire. Undertake or assist with EC verifications to weighbridges and platform scales as required Undertake all monthly service work within the Southern regions (catchment areas) as required. Ensure job sheets and calibration certificates reach the office promptly for processing. Essential Experience: Weighing / scales calibration and repair: 2 years (required) Clean UK Driver's License (required)
