Financial Controller - High Wycombe area £60,000 - £65,000pa (depending on experience) Full time, office-based position. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5pm (some flexibility) An experienced Financial Controller is required to support a growing SME and ensure that the Finance function is a key support to the further strong growth anticipated! This is an exciting role that requires a commercial individual who will quickly gain a good understanding of the business processes and systems to deliver continuous improvement. You will raise the profile of the finance department as a business partner and service provider to the business and support the Board. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and being part of the Senior Management Team, you will have commercial and strategic involvement across the business. This role would suit a finance professional looking to potentially progress to the Finance Director role in future. Responsibilities will include: Leading and developing the Finance Team, setting the highest standards of operational delivery Driving continuous improvement of finance systems, data, processes, procedures and controls to ensure that they are relevant and adequate to protect the business Have complete ownership and control of the month end procedures and processes Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analyses, for final review by the Finance Director Ensure that the monthly management accounts are completed for internal and external reporting within three weeks of the month end Develop weekly and monthly KPI reporting and dashboards to enhance the visibility of the key financial data and targets Analysis of expenditure across the business to highlight inefficiencies and potential cost savings Overseeing the company s monthly fee collections processes Develop and support the financial awareness and accountability of the Senior Management team Manage the annual financial budgeting process, working closely with both the Board and the Senior Management Team to prepare the departmental budgets Execution of a robust and integrated forecasting process for updating on a regular basis Management of the annual audit/review process with the external accountants and tax advisors, including the preparation of all the working papers for the year end statutory accounts and tax computations Ensuring the company remains fully compliant in terms of all statutory obligations including tax Ad hoc reporting and special projects, as required by the Finance Director Candidate requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA. ACCA, CIMA) Previous experience as a Financial Controller, ideally gained in SME's Strong technical knowledge of accounting, controls and processes Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively Confident, outgoing, motivated and results orientated Excellent communication and presentational skills for people at all levels as you will be dealing with a lot of non-financial people within the company Can operate at a senior level and be comfortable in the detail Can drive change in a flexible, resilient, collaborative and positive manner Can lead, manage, develop and mentor a value added Finance Team Advanced Excel skills and financial systems experience, ideally with prior experience of Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks Professional integrity, independence of thought and the conviction to deliver quality Company benefits include: Holiday allowance of 20 days p/a, plus Bank Holidays, plus 3 days for Christmas shutdown, company pension, regular company events including an annual conference, Christmas party and a fun & friendly working environment!
