Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Upstream Product Management Responsibilities
Represent marketing on assigned cross-functional project teams. Provide market specifications by integrating voice of customer, competitive intelligence, and an understanding of the clinical specialty to define market needs and product requirements.
Represent the customer on product development programs while working cross-functionally with Quality, Project Management, R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Clinical, Compliance, Regional partners, and the Training organization.
Create the marketing strategy, global segmentation, targeting and positioning for products in development. Develop well-defined clinical and economic value propositions for each new product or therapy. Lead cross-functional plans for evidence development.
Co-lead strategic long-term planning process for product segment. Collaborate with cross-functional business and regional colleagues to ensure global alignment on plans.Develop pricing strategies to optimize commercial opportunities across market dynamics
Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop promotional plans, marketing tools, and product communications. Review regional marketing communication tactics to ensure accuracy and continuity of brand position and messaging. Provide clinical and technical input for customer communications related to product launches, promotions, product use, and complaint handling.
Coordinate comprehensive market assessments to support prioritization and decision-making, or to assess current and future opportunities or threats.
Develop and execute upon comprehensive product launch plans. Plan for and predict product life cycle events.
Downstream Global Marketing Responsibilities
Be a global product brand champion. Monitor and communicate market trends, reinforce product position, and provide training and technical support.
Provide Regions/SSUs, field representatives and customers training and product support.
Monitor and update organization on market trends, competitive activities, publications and presentations related to products or business area. Be proactive or quick in response.
Partner with downstream regional organizations to support commercial activities, regional market introductions, or expansion programs.
Bachelor s degree, MBA preferred. Business management, finance, science, or engineering specialty and experience preferred.
3+ years of experience in a product management, strategic marketing, or sales role in the healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries with global commercialization.
English language fluency is required. Additional language comprehension a plus
Experience traveling and working abroad is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Professional experience working with healthcare providers. Experience working in a surgical or endovascular environment a plus.
Proven success in global marketing or product management in the medical device industry; includes experience leading a product launch.
Experience in developing strategic plans and executing upon them; consistently going beyond to meet and/or exceed business goals.
Experience and/or ability to create ROI and product life cycle models, conduct market assessments, and develop qualitative and quantitative research surveys.
Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated experience presenting to management, customers, and field representatives.
Ability to lead and influence individuals and teams to execute against strategic plans.
Must have ability to multitask and handle demanding project workload with simultaneous deadlines and overlapping priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with MS Project, Visio, Oracle, Agile, or equivalent software applications.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally an average of 30%.
Supervision/Management of Others
Grow, develop, coach, and lead Product Manager for Chest Drains and Sr. Producct Manager for Peripheral Vascular Grafts to meet job responsibilities, as well as to achieve product strategies and annual performance goals.
Internal and External Contacts / Relationships
Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and influencers. Bring knowledge of the clinical specialty, products, and market to the business.
Develop and maintain customer and thought leader relationships, attend conferences and professional medical education events, participate in field travel to support portfolio activities and monitor accurate product positioning and promotion. Partner with global Sales and Service Units to achieve targets.
