A Specialist School supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs is looking for a Mental Health Support Assistant who is resilient, confident and up for a challenge! The pupils here range between 5 to 18 and all have significant developmental trauma, emotional needs and behavioural challenges. You will therefore need to support the personal development of each student with a passionate and proactive approach.
A Psychology, Criminology or Mental Health Degree is desired, as well as a good understanding of mental health. Experience working with SEN children and/or adults is also desired, whether it be professional or personal experience.
This is a unique opportunity for the successful Mental Health Assistant to work alongside both psychologists, therapists and SENCO based on-site at school. This is therefore a FANTASTIC opportunity for anyone looking at a career in Educational or Cognitive Psychology, Counselling, Teaching or Criminal Justice to gain some crucial first-hand experience!
