My client is one of the leading construction companies in the UK and Ireland and are now looking for a hardworking, dedicated HSEQ advisor who can work as part of team on a busy construction site. The candidate will initially be based at and working from their Birmingham office and expected to travel between sites as they come on board. The Role: As a HSEQ Advisor you will support a number of projects in the Midlands department to meet the requirements of their Safety Quality and Environment Management systems. The role will also involve working closely with and assisting the project leadership and site teams and review and continuously improve HSEQ and promote the strategies by recognising hazards and seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining and improving the health, safety, environmental and Quality standards. You will champion HSEQ initiatives in the workplace whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to. This means moving away from traditional practices and non-value adding process. Main Responsibilities: Understand the EG HSEQ Policies and Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented. Managing and executing site inspections. Advising on and setting Operational team safety objectives. Supporting and undertaking investigations into accidents and incidents Assessing external environments for safe working Identifying any gaps in the H&S management system; recommending improvements Developing and implementing new initiatives or sharing best practice with colleagues Advising on and communicating new working practices in line with any new legislative requirements or best practice Actively encouraging Safety Observations and Hazard Reporting Minimum requirements: NEBOSH certificate in construction or equivalent. Full clean driving licence. 2-3 years' experience within the construction industry. CSCS card Knowledge of: Health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance. Construction industry experience and in particular CDM 2015 Knowledge and experience of ISO (phone number removed), 9001 & 14001.
