As an Agency - Loan Closing Manager within PNC's Commercial Lending Operations organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.

This position also offers the opportunity to work remotely from home.

The Commercial Lending Operations Manager II will require someone with technical experience and background to drive the technology build and efforts, along with the following qualifications:
  • Management-level experience
  • Commercial Operations and Lending experience
  • Closing and Booking function experience at a Commercial Lending level
  • UAT testing and Agile experience
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of work experiences, and in-depth knowledge, in the following areas:
  • Transaction/production (high)
  • Process review, streamlining, automation
  • Recruitment, development of cross-training plans and development
  • Focus on processing quality and controls (high dollar transactions)
  • Knowledge with Libor replacement pricing options (SOFR/BSBY)
  • Foreign currency transactions
  • Experience with reconciliation
  • Controls, approvals, and verifications around transactions
  • Error rate and error analysis (root cause)
  • Up and down management/communication
  • Preparation and leading touchpoints and executive update meetings
  • Experience leading process change, including application of technology
Job Description
  • Leads all activities of high paced closing team.
  • Leads industry leading customer experience, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of delivery.
  • Resolves internal and external customer related issues that have escalated past the Closing team.
  • Develops strategy and set team goals.
  • Plays an active role in team hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations etc. of employees. Maintains a well-trained, highly motivated team.
  • Evaluates team's performance; coach and motivate team to top performance
  • Responsible for the data integrity of loan input including accurate CRA information, HMDA compliance, collateral tracking, and exceptions.
  • Manages assigned closing pipeline and calendar. Takes responsibility for the implementation of regulatory and credit policy requirements and procedural changes related to this body of work, including the planning, introduction, and evolution of new/modified systems or procedures. Strict adherence to requirements when initiating and closing new loans and modifications in credit approval system. Possess the ability to meet deadlines by working with multiple Relationship Managers on concurrent closing requests, including the potential for making 'last minute' modifications. Should the need arise, coordinate with team on workload redistribution.
  • Serve as a champion for process improvements within the Closing team, advocating for process improvements, automation, and known benefits. Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments and business partners in the Bank, working as both a SME and project leader, when appropriate, to establish exemplary partnerships with all co-workers and create a positive team environment. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with customers, Relationship Teams, Third Parties, and other internal partners to address discrepancies/issues found during due diligence/loan closing review process.
  • Responsible for the successful performance of the team delivering on responsibilities within their respective deals, including managing the lifecycle closing process for a high-volume or complex (DCM, ABF, and BC loans) portfolio. Prepares loan closing package for funding and archiving, ensuring that the loan package(s) complies with the associated credit approval(s).
  • Ensures that all required loan conditions (OFAC, tax, insurance, collateral, etc.) are sufficient and properly documented and in compliance with bank policy
  • Actively participates on departmental projects and committees as needed. Recommends plausible solutions to concerns that are raised, when possible.
  • Promotes an environment that supports diversity and inclusion.
  • Leads regularly scheduled departmental training calls to maintain current knowledge of procedures, regulatory updates, and Commercial Products. Assist other staff members with understanding what has been communicated.
  • Leads regularly schedule employee development conversations and planning sessions.
  • Responsible for managing departmental report reconciliation requests.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Participates in the development of the operations strategy. Executes operating plan and communicates strategy to operations team. Responsible for two or more functions across one or more sites, or may manage a complex product, function or location. Manages managers, supervisors and/or individual contributors. May participate in industry forums.
  • Manages and is responsible for achieving desired business results. Acts as a senior point of escalation and resolves exceptions and complex process and product support problems. Review and provide oversight on end to end processes of varying risk and financial value. May interact with customers and/or third parties to drive business results and in resolving escalated issues.
  • Manages all human resources related activities for direct and indirect reports and maintains employee engagement. Provides coaching and development to team members, supervisors and/or managers. Leads staff meetings, communicates strategy and translates into tactical operating plans.
  • Provides consultation and advice to service partners and customers. Identifies and influences strategic improvement initiatives and serves as a representative or a project sponsor for operations group on projects. Develops, reviews and/or approves standard operating procedures as appropriate. Recommends and/or drives policy improvements.
  • Oversees and/or owns the control framework for unit(s) of responsibility. Reviews reports and/or key risk indicators to identify exceptions, monitor quality and ensure effective quality risk management. Manages and is accountable for risk mitigation and business resiliency activities and/or strategies. May review transactions and related documents. Verifies work processes to ensure completeness, accuracy and conformance to established service levels, department controls, risk tolerance and applicable procedures.
