Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Raleigh, NC

Shift: Weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

Purpose statement:

The Operations Manager of Weekend Manufacturing monitors and facilitates the daily, weekend operations of the North Carolina site and coordinates the hiring, training, development, and engagement of the staff.

Job Specific Essential Functions:

  • Supervises the weekend day-to-day activities related to North Carolina operations including Main Production, Formulations, HPLC, HQC, Chemical Processing & RMQC, Engineering, Metrology and Facilities operations.

  • Use formal management responsibilities to coordinate resources and set daily priorities to meet operational objectives.

  • Ensures that all work instructions, logs, and process flows are kept current and initiates creation of additional documents when necessary.

  • Lead and ensures effective communication within all departments across the site.

  • Supports leadership in the development and monitoring of measurable objectives for the site and ensures compliance with SOPs and workplace safety programs acts as necessary to correct negative deviations.

  • Collaborates cross functionally with other departments and functions to ensure compliance to product specification and customer needs.

  • Creates opportunities for personnel to enhance department productivity

  • Responsible for the development and monitoring of departmental quality objectives and KPIs.  Develops counter measures and actions plans to assure objectives remain on-target.

  • Responsible for associate engagement for all weekend staff. Strives to improve engagement survey results through execution of the engagement action plan.

  • Manages and develops talent for area of responsibility, including the support in associate development, performance management, recruiting, hiring, training and corrective actions/discipline.

  • Contribute to the process development process for review and/or functional layout planning of new equipment and processes related to future expansion projects.

  • Assures IDT Quality system requirements are met to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction, including ISO standards in place.

  • Contributes to annual budget and forecasting cycle, manages accordingly to adhere to the financial targets.

  • Engages, participates, supports, and leads continuous improvement initiatives using Danaher Business System tools, such as Daily Management, 5S, Standard Work and others implemented at RTP.

  • Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Danaher Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or similar fields required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of operations/manufacturing in life science, medical device, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, or similar industries required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous management experience leading teams required.

Travel Requirements (anything requiring overnight stay):

  • Seldom (Up to 5% of time)
