multiplatform media, product, technology, and distribution organization for world-
class content. DMED is comprised of Disney's international media and direct-to-
consumer businesses globally, including all Disney networks outside of the US, as
well as streaming services ESPN+, Disney+, Hulu, and forthcoming Star+. Disney
Streaming D.A.T.A. organization focuses on providing innovative data solutions
supporting business stakeholders with comprehensive, timely, and reliable data
and the means to access, activate and analyze all of Disney's consumer data in a
secure and compliant way.
Job Summary:
The Product Manager, Data Lake will focus on technology offerings that allow our
data teams to transform petabytes of raw data into actionable insights. You will
work in close collaboration with peer product managers and partner with
engineering leads, architects and data governance to improve our platform
infrastructure offerings with an end goal of making our delivery teams highly
productive and efficient.
Ideal candidate would have successful track record of product management in the
data platforms domain, result oriented mindset and familiarity with modern data
processing frameworks like Apache Spark and related cloud offerings (AWS EMR,
Databricks).

This role will require you to work in an incredibly fast-paced and constantly
changing environment. You will need an exceptional ability to navigate complex
organizational structure, develop relationships with stakeholders across a diverse
set of functional roles and quickly get up to speed on complex data pipelines and
platforms.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
  • Own the product roadmap; Prioritize the work taking into account value dentification, cost savings and progress against the broader business strategy
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and document requirements, user stories, data flows, acceptance criteria and success metrics
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, backlog grooming) as Product Owner
  • Partner with program management to oversee roadmap execution, identify delivery risks and resolve key blockers
  • Maintain customer-facing documentation
  • Champion a collaborative work environment that cultivates inclusion, shared understanding, transparency, autonomy, innovation and continuous learning

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of product or engineering management in data platforms domain
  • Familiarity with Apache Spark/Hadoop/Hive ecosystem
  • Ability to identify, document and prioritize requirements in highly technical domain
  • Ability to influence, collaborate and deliver solutions in a sophisticated, always-changing environment with competing priorities
  • Experience with Agile frameworks and practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Product management experience in data lake environment
  • AWS EMR, AWS Glue and Databricks experience
  • Data engineering or software architecture background is a big plus
  • Familiarity with enterprise security practices and facilitating development with high regulation and oversite
  • CSPO, SAFe PM/PO, PMP certifications
