Senior Quantity Surveyor Carpentry & Joinery Specialists Salary - £70k-£95k (Plus Package) Permanent London Immediate The Company Our client is a carpentry and joinery specialist, they have been operating for 21 years and are still a family-run business. They have a huge presence in the market and have many long-standing relationships with some of the most reputable clients on the market. Specialising in multiple sectors including commercial, leisure, retail, residential, and healthcare, they work on both fit-out and refurbishment projects with values up to £15m. They have firmly established their brand due to excellent service and a commitment to ongoing innovation, and despite the pandemic are on track for another successful year as the company is projected to turnover £40m. Our client is looking for a talented and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their highly successful team, the team is a mixture of young, exuberant & ambitious professionals and the work ethic is to enjoy what they do whilst building long-lasting relationships with clients. Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor: Reporting into the Commercial Director, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Review cost plan information, agree on target margins, advise on risks and develop project budgets. Analyse sub-contractor quotations and place orders. Agree on monthly valuations with the PQS, raise invoices and secure payment. Produce monthly status reports and attend meetings. Administer final accounts with clients and sub-contractors. To be successful as the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will need to possess the following: 5+ years of experience working with a main contractor or specialist fit-out contractors. Experience working on carpentry and joinery projects (essential). Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Client facing with a good personality. Excellent commercial acumen. Good management skills. A proactive and organised approach with the ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast and dynamic environment. Excellent IT skills including experience in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word & Outlook. Understanding of standard forms of construction contracts (JCT) mainly.
