Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy is currently seeking a fulltime CBT clinician to join our non-profit organization. Applicants do not have to live in the Philadelphia area. They may be highly experienced CBT therapists or early career CBT therapists (or anywhere in between) who have a terminal degree in psychology, psychiatry, counseling, social work, or a related field. Psychologists must have an unrestricted license in Pennsylvania or another jurisdiction in the United States and have authority to practice telehealth through PSYPACT (in the 31 states listed at end). Other professionals who are located out of state would need to apply for licensure in Pennsylvania. Applicants must have experience using CBT to treat adult outpatients.

The Beck Institute Staff Clinician will provide direct clinical care in an outpatient setting. If their degree of expertise is high, they would soon start providing training and supervision, with additional responsibilities dependent on their interests, experience, and skills (such as research, program development, etc.). If their degree of expertise and experience is more limited, we would anticipate a shift in the responsibilities listed below over time.

Specific Duties:
  • Provide direct clinical services (virtually and/or on site) for a wide range of mental health disorders to an average of 25-35 patients weekly, depending on other assigned responsibilities. This will include assessment and individual treatment, and may include couples, group treatment, and consultation.
  • Attend periodic supervision with a Beck Institute supervisor to continue developing expertise; weekly supervision for early career applicants.
  • Attend bi-weekly case conference with Beck Institute's clinician staff, including Dr. Judith S. Beck
  • Attend Beck Institute's clinic, staff, and other meetings
  • Represent Beck Institute at professional and academic conferences, symposia, industry, and other events
  • Engage in additional duties as assigned, including but not limited to supervision and consultation, in-person and virtual training, program development, writing, research, and ancillary reading.
Requirements:
  • Terminal doctoral or master's degree in psychology, psychiatry, social work, counseling, or related field from an accredited educational institution
  • Psychologists must hold a current unrestricted license in Pennsylvania or other US jurisdiction with authorization to practice telehealth through PSYPACT
  • Experience in using CBT case conceptualization and interventions to treat adults with a wide range of mental health disorders
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Some evening work is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using the Cognitive Therapy Rating Scale (CTRS)
  • Experience with telehealth assessment and interventions
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate, graduate, or post-graduate level
  • Supervision experience
