The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is recruiting for a Technical Records Specialist 1 in the Animal Industries Division located in Boise.

Example of Duties

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the Division by answering phones, assisting with passing and processing mail and filing.
  • Assist in entering inspections, sanitation, waste, construction, and reports, received from State inspectors. File hard copies.
  • Maintain database for HTST, VAT, State and USDA inspections, as well as monthly quality lab results, into the Dairy Program database. File hard copies. Review test results and identify non-compliances.
  • Receive, process and issues Hauler licenses. Maintain data base for samplers, haulers, and tankers. File hard copies.
  • Maintain bulk hauler license permitting process which includes renewals and issuance of licenses. Receive, review, generate invoice for payment, once received, generate license, enter database, send to hauling company and driver. Maintain excel ledger and file hard copies.
  • Fiscal responsibilities: verifying the accuracy of p-card charges and processing p-cards, verifying the accuracy of invoices and process for payment, and the WEX report, filing receipts.
  • Keep a current ledger of vehicle maintenance and costs related to vehicles.
  • Maintain Drug Reside database by entering data monthly.
  • Answer inquiries from citizens, other state and federal agencies and inspectors and or help route them in the correct direction.
  • Additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

  • Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors;
  • Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems;
  • Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments;
  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.
Supplemental Information

Temporary appointments from this announcement, serving at least one thousand forty (1,040) hours of continuous service, may be hired as an entrance probationary employee without further examination for the same classification and location as announced.
